Job summary

The Chinook School Division invites applications for an Educational Assistant at Fairview School. This permanent part-time position (0.917 FTE) supports students in one-on-one and classroom settings and requires a commitment to inclusive education.

Start Date: Sept 1, 2026. Successful candidates will demonstrate collaboration, flexibility and a respect for diverse cultures and backgrounds. Interview will be required.

Qualifications

• Educational Assistant certification or relevant experience.
• Ability to work with students one-on-one and in classroom settings.
• Experience or ability to work with young children.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Positive and flexible attitude to change.
• Interview will be required.
• Respect for diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives.
• Commitment to truth and reconciliation.
• Commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with a student's educational program.
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced student-centered environment.
• Meet health and hygiene needs of children as required.
• Provide individual support in speech, motor, language development and social and life skills.
• Collaborate on development and implementation of Individual Improvement Plan.
• May involve some lifts and transfers.
• Other duties as assigned.
