MNP in Canada is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Assurance & Accounting team. You will provide tailored financial information and act as a trusted advisor to help clients make informed decisions in a dynamic reporting landscape.

Responsibilities include conducting compilations, reviews, audits and tax engagements; mentoring junior staff; and participating in business development while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• GAAP, SEC and IFRS knowledge are required.
• Experience with accounting and tax software is required.
• Understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles is needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files and perform inventory counts.
• Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset acquisition/disposition and payroll walk-through with clients.
• Summarize clients’ financial status by preparing balance sheets, P&L statements and related reports.
• Assess and assure the appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, assets and payables.
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and prepare posting entries.
• Prepare correspondence, reports and client summaries outlining findings.
• Develop working relationships with clients and mentor junior team members.
• Participate in business development and identify new opportunities.
• Flexibility to travel as necessary.
