Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Canada is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) for the Specimen Reception area. Candidates must have relevant educational qualifications, including 3 Highers at Grade C or above, and experience in a medical laboratory reception. Responsibilities include processing samples and ensuring correct specimen management. This is a full-time role with a Monday to Friday work schedule from 09:00 to 17:00, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute to patient care.

Qualifications

• 3 Highers at Grade C or above, including either Chemistry or Biology together with Maths.
• SVQ3 in relevant science subject required.
• Experience of working in a medical laboratory reception is essential.

Responsibilities

• Process samples through specimen reception by preparing samples for analysis and safe disposal of clinical waste.
• Book in specimens on laboratory Information System (Telepath) using bar-code readers.
• Ensure correct storage and retrieval of samples.
