Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Substation Engineer Consultant to lead project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and schedulers on high‑voltage substations. The role encompasses design, modification, and analysis across EPC and engineering projects.

You will coordinate multi‑disciplinary work, ensure on‑time delivery within budget, mentor team members, and liaise with clients. Hybrid work with relocation support available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree required.
• 10+ years in design engineering and/or management of high voltage utility projects.
• Experience with EPC, Owners Engineer, Traditional or Joint Ventures a plus.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI.
• Experience coordinating multi-discipline teams and client liaison.

Responsibilities

• Manage project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and schedulers for HV substations.
• Lead design phases and coordinate detailed electrical engineering work.
• Direct coordination with civil, structural, and transmission teams.
• Ensure on-time, within-budget project delivery and high quality.
• Identify scope changes and coordinate with client approvals.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specs, codes and client requirements.
• Collaborate with staff locally and nationwide.
• Prepare reports in clear formats per Sargent & Lundy standards.
• Review calculations, drawings, reports, and procurement specs.
• Communicate with clients and provide project and account support.
• Support business development with existing and potential clients.
• Provide independent reviews of scopes, proposals and contract docs.
• Develop and mentor team members.
