Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Electrical Engineer to lead HV substation design from 25kV to 500kV, including single line diagrams, layouts, and related electrical studies. You will mentor engineers, coordinate with project managers, and ensure quality on a proactive, client-focused team.

The role requires a Canadian P.Eng, a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, and 15+ years of utility HV substation experience.

Qualifications

• Registered P.Eng in Canada.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in utility HV substation design.
• Experience with site visits and FAT for data collection.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA/QC of electrical engineering design packages.
• Work with Project Managers to meet timelines for engineering deliverables.
• Determine allocation of resources and track man-hours on projects.
• Review electrical design & drawings for codes and standards compliance.
• Produce complete station drawings with the P&C team.
• Attend client interactions and project status meetings.
• Participate in project planning meetings and reviews.
