Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, L.L.C. is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to design transmission lines in the 69kV–500kV range, develop design criteria, and oversee cost analyses. You will liaise with vendors and clients to specify line components and lead a small project team, while mentoring less experienced staff.

The role supports a hybrid work schedule with in-office presence three days per week and remote work for two days, with opportunities to travel for site visits and client meetings.

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET- or equivalent-accredited program.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software to review transmission line models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range.
• Conduct cost analyses, develop design criteria, routing and siting.
• Perform conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding and induction analyses.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to specify line components.
• Direct a small project team and mentor staff.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates for new work.
