Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to design underground transmission lines up to 500kV and lead a small project team of engineers and drafters. The role involves cost analyses, siting challenges, duct bank layouts, and preparation of specifications for installation and procurement.

The position is hybrid, with in-office work 3 days weekly and relocation support offered depending on location. Canadian work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree from a CEAB-accredited program or ABET-accredited program.
• Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling and tensioning software.
• 12+ years of underground transmission project experience.
• Design experience with code requirements and client specs.
• Cost estimate development and schedule coordination.
• Knowledge of XLPE cable design and installation specs.

Responsibilities

• Design underground transmission lines up to 500kV.
• Perform cost analyses and develop design criteria.
• Plan duct bank layouts and manhole placement.
• Develop drawings packages and specs for procurement.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients on components.
• Lead a small project team of engineers and drafters.
