Job summary

The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company in Canada is seeking both Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) and Senior HRBP professionals to help shape our People strategy. This role offers a hybrid work model across Winnipeg, Toronto, Kitchener, and Montreal, with English as the working language and exposure to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience; HR designation preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience partnering with leaders on employee relations, talent management, and workforce initiatives.
• Strong relationship-building, coaching, communication, and influencing skills.
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience for Senior HRBP roles.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted partnerships with leaders to understand business priorities and deliver people solutions.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, and performance practices.
• Support talent reviews, succession planning, and development initiatives to support business objectives.
• Assess organizational structures, roles, and processes to improve effectiveness and performance.
• Partner with Centres of Excellence to deliver integrated people solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR programs and practices.
• Use workforce insights to identify trends and support business decisions.
• Advise senior and executive leaders on complex people and organizational priorities.
• Lead workforce planning, talent strategy, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
• Diagnose organizational challenges and recommend solutions aligned with business priorities.
• Use workforce and business insights to influence business decisions.
• Lead complex organizational change initiatives and mitigate talent, leadership, and organizational risks.
