Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in a health sciences related discipline (preferred).
• Experience with disability management and WSIB in a hospital or unionized environment.
• Knowledge of OH&S legislation and disability management principles.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to adjudicate complex disability cases and return-to-work plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to ensure compliance with occupational health legislation and hospital policies.
• Manage WSIB, short/long term disability, and accommodation cases for timely return to work.
• Collaborate with management, staff, unions and external stakeholders to adjudicate and manage claims.
• Identify attendance trends and assist in prevention initiatives.
• Support managers on attendance issues and modified work design.
