Job summary

Altis Technology in Toronto, ON is seeking a disability management professional to lead complex return-to-work and workplace accommodation initiatives within a large unionized healthcare environment.

You will partner with employees, managers, HR, occupational health nurses, insurers, physicians, and union representatives to deliver thoughtful, compliant disability solutions that support employee wellbeing while helping the organization maintain safe and effective operations.

Qualifications

• Progressive disability claim management experience in a unionized setting.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, kinesiology or related allied health field.
• Strong knowledge of disability management, workplace accommodation, WSIB and Human Rights legislation.
• Ability to interpret medical documentation and translate into practical accommodations.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage short-term and long-term disability claims with timely administration and policy compliance.
• Develop, coordinate and monitor return-to-work and accommodation plans with employees, managers, healthcare providers, insurers, and union reps.
• Interpret medical information and translate restrictions into practical workplace accommodations.
• Provide subject matter expertise on disability management and legislative requirements including WSIB and Human Rights considerations.
• Prepare absence and disability reporting, identify trends, and support process improvements.
• Collaborate with Occupational Health, Safety, and HR to promote consistent practices.
