Job summary

Canada Life in Winnipeg is seeking a Manager, Application Support to lead a team in Investment Technology Operations. The role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence several days weekly, and focuses on maintaining and supporting on-premises and third-party systems for the business unit.

You will drive strategic tech initiatives, manage incidents and roadmaps, and partner with business leaders to ensure service excellence and financial accountability.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in computer science or related discipline.
• 8+ years technology experience; leadership experience a plus.
• Work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong learning agility and collaboration with business partners.
• Drive results and support change for business unit performance.
• Hands-on with support and strong analytical mindset; strategic thinking.
• Experience with MS SQL and Oracle databases.
• Experience with .NET technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance, support, and availability of on-premises and 3rd party systems.
• Serve as main contact for centralized application support.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams deploying applications.
• Develop relationships with IS leaders and external vendors.
• Lead technology incident coordination and disaster recovery.
• Deliver development/enhancement and health activities as agreed with business units.
• Ensure applications availability and align resources with needs via roadmaps and metrics.
• Contribute to annual business planning with financial view of application support.
• Maintain in-year financial view of application support.
