Job summary

Root Edge seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer, High Voltage, to own and optimize a solar & storage fleet across North America. You will lead HV/MV system reliability, troubleshoot field events, and drive upgrades from design through handover to operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of HV/MV electrical engineering in IPP/utility/engineering firms.
• Experience diagnosing and fixing plant and substation issues independently.
• Knowledge of protection and control schemes, transformers, breakers, cables, metering.
• ISO/RTO experience in a deregulated market environment.
• Familiar with NERC PRC standards and related reliability controls.
• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred; PE a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead field-informed troubleshooting of events across the operating fleet.
• Perform root-cause analysis using relay data, SCADA and diagnostics.
• Define upgrade/retrofit projects to improve reliability and performance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with Operations to resolve technical issues and optimize fleet.
• Develop engineering standards and testing protocols for projects.
