Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – High Voltage to join our Design Delivery Organization in Ontario offices such as Waterloo, Mississauga, Markham, Toronto or Whitby. You will lead electrical design across HV/MV substations, power distribution, and related systems, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver high-quality projects.

The role requires a strong background in high/medium voltage design, detailed engineering, and client-facing project delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
10+ years of experience in design and implementation of electrical systems including HV/MV substations and power distribution.
Licensure in other provinces/jurisdictions is an asset.
PMP designation will be considered as asset.
Good knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Canadian Electrical Code, NFPA 70, NEC, CSA codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design teams on large, complex projects as discipline lead.
Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines, vendors, and clients.
Support tendering, RFIs, and site inspections; review shop drawings and reports.
Mentor junior staff and ensure quality of deliverables.
