Job summary

GHD seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer – High Voltage to join the Design Delivery Organization in Ontario offices (Waterloo, Mississauga, Markham, Toronto or Whitby). You will lead HV/MV design efforts, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and contribute to bids and client relations.

This role requires deep experience with high/medium voltage systems, protection, and commissioning, and offers a hybrid work model with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design including HV/MV substations, motors and drives, power distribution, and grid optimization.
• Ontario licensure or eligibility is essential; other jurisdictions considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design teams on large projects as discipline lead.
• Prepare detailed design drawings and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate electrical designs with process, mechanical, civil, and other disciplines.
• Support tendering, RFIs, site inspections, and QA/QC of drawings.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
