Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – High Voltage to join the Design Delivery Organization in Ontario offices (Waterloo, Mississauga, Markham, Toronto or Whitby). You will lead HV/MV electrical design across transmission, distribution, substations, generation, and related sectors, ensuring code compliance and client satisfaction.

The role requires extensive HV design experience, project leadership, and ability to collaborate across regions and disciplines in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical design for HV/MV substations, motors and drives, and power systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design teams on large, complex projects as discipline lead.
• Prepare detailed design drawings and package documentation for construction.
• Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines and clients, vendors and internal teams.
• Support tendering, site inspections, RFIs, and change orders during project delivery.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
