Altis Technology in Ontario is seeking an experienced HR leader to oversee people services, labour relations, employee experience, and workplace culture within a unionized non‑profit setting. reporting to the Executive Director, you will provide hands-on leadership and collaborate with leaders, employees, and external partners to navigate complex people matters.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience with a related university degree, or 5+ years with a related college diploma.
  • Demonstrated HR and labour relations experience within a unionized environment is required.
  • Experience in a non‑profit, healthcare, government, or similar complex, people‑focused environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontarios ESA, OLRA, OHSA, WSIA, Human Rights Code, and Pay Equity Act.
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience with employee benefits, HR programs, workplace investigations, grievances, and labour relations.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills, with sound judgment when handling confidential matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead core HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, attendance management, and offboarding.
  • Advise leaders on employee relations, collective agreement interpretation, management rights, and HR policies.
  • Investigate workplace complaints and grievances, prepare responses, facilitate conflict resolution, and support collective bargaining.
  • Oversee HR programs and systems, benefits administration, WSIB matters, return-to-work plans, and departmental SOPs.
  • Champion an inclusive workplace culture through employee engagement, training, talent development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Support health and safety committees and coordinate required employee training.

About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced HR professional to step into a hands‑on leadership role within a mission‑driven non‑profit organization.
