Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources in a generalist, employee-facing role.
  • Retail experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge or experience in outdoor activities and related products is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Pay Range: $60,500.00 - $84,700.00

Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is a key leadership role in the retail store, responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, recognition, and administration of company HR programs. Works closely with managers, employees, and business partners to implement policies and procedures and to enhance the employee experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure Human Resources programs and processes align with Cabela’s & Bass Pro Shops Mission, Values, and HR best practices.
  2. Provide daily HR operational services, including recruitment, training, and employee relations.
  3. Support general administration and reporting to meet business objectives.
  4. Partner with managers to develop recruitment plans for each department.
  5. Maintain accuracy and effectiveness of time & labour, HRIS, and payroll documentation.
  6. Develop strong relationships with managers to understand business needs and deliver effective HR services.
  7. Support decision-making by preparing business cases and managing case files related to compensation, discipline, disability, and workers’ compensation.
  8. Lead or support investigations into employee misconduct.
  9. Advise and support managers on performance management processes.
  10. Collaborate with the Canada HR leadership team to provide consistent HR programming across Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops in Canada.

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education in business or a related discipline; CPHR designation preferred.
  2. 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources in a generalist, employee-facing role; retail experience is an asset.
  3. Knowledge of provincial employment legislation.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  5. Strong coaching abilities.
  6. Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new programs.
  7. Knowledge or experience in outdoor activities and related products is preferred.
  8. Ability to work in a dynamic, continuous improvement environment.
  9. Flexible availability, including willingness to work retail hours, weekends, and evenings as needed.
