In this key role within our specialized human resources division, you will serve as an essential foundation for daily HR operations, employee engagement, compliance, and end-to-end talent acquisition. Our specialized recruiters are experts in their fields, dedicated to connecting premier talent with rewarding career opportunities that fit your individual professional ambitions.

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in managing full-cycle recruitment, championing workplace safety, ensuring strict employment standards compliance, and leading constructive employee relations. This is a dynamic, permanent position tailored for an energetic professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting. While initial onboarding will be conducted remotely, this role will transition directly to a modern, fully on-site work environment (5 days per week) once the new facility and temporary offices are finalized. We are seeking a self-starter who possesses deep operational knowledge of Alberta workplace standards and is eager to make a direct impact from day one.

In this multifaceted role, your core focus will span across full-cycle recruitment, employment standards interpretation, workplace investigations, and compensation administration support. Whether collaborating with department heads to draft targeted interview guides or managing complex claims with the Workers' Compensation Board of Alberta (WCB Alberta), your broad expertise will ensure operational consistency and organizational integrity. Your everyday mission as a Human Resources Generalist will involve aligning operational goals with positive employee outcomes, fostering a culture of mutual trust, equity, and occupational safety.

Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in full-cycle recruitment strategies and structured, compliant interview techniques.
  • Proven competence in conducting objective employee relations inquiries, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Proficient handling of WCB Alberta injury claims, return-to-work program development, and compliance reporting.
  • Functional understanding of Canadian payroll concepts, statutory deductions, timesheet auditing, and ROE preparation.
  • Technical proficiency with HRIS systems; prior hands-on experience with Ceridian Dayforce is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent active listening, verbal communication, and written interpersonal negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational capabilities with the ability to prioritize urgent priorities in a dynamic office environment.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and ethical judgment when managing sensitive human resources matters.
  • Adaptability to support on-site operational requirements and facilitate facility transition milestones.
Advantages
  • Immediate start date with expedited interview and hiring decisions for qualified candidates.
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with regional market rates and industry experience.
  • Opportunity to work on-site at a brand-new, modern business facility.
  • Collaborative, people-focused culture that values employee voice, well-being, and mutual accountability.
  • Direct representation and career guidance from Randstad's specialized human resources recruitment experts.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness benefits provided through our client partner.
  • Exposure to strategic operational HR projects, systems implementation, and organisational development.
  • Access to professional development programs, continuous coaching, and career advancement pathways.
Responsibilities
  • Drive the end-to-end full-cycle recruitment process, including intake meetings, job postings, screening, structured competency-based interviewing, and reference checks.
  • Ensure all interview practices adhere strictly to human rights legislation and provincial employment regulations regarding permissible inquiries.
  • Interpret, communicate, and apply the Employment Standards Code (ESA), advising management on statutory holidays, overtime thresholds, and job-protected leaves.
  • Manage complete WCB Alberta processes, including injury reporting, claim adjudication support, return-to-work modified duty plans, and annual payroll reporting.
  • Conduct objective, thorough workplace incident and injury investigations, identifying root causes and recommending preventive health and safety measures.
  • Lead employee relations initiatives, conduct respectful workplace investigations, mediate conflicts, and document corrective action plans.
  • Assist with payroll administration workflows, timesheet reconciliations, and the preparation and issuance of Records of Employment (ROEs).
  • Maintain and update electronic personnel records, employee files, and HRIS systems to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Facilitate seamless onboarding, new hire orientation, and offboarding procedures for permanent and temporary team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to support organizational growth, policy development, and change management initiatives.
Qualifications
