The Role

The Human Resources Coordinator role is focused on providing administrative support to the HR department at AutoVerify. You will act as the main point of contact for internal HR inquiries while assisting with recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and benefits administration. You will build rapport with employees and senior-level team members and work to improve employee engagement. You must possess strong initiative, great attention to detail and excellent communication skills to effectively carry out the duties of this role.

This is a full-time contract position covering a maternity leave from May 2025 to June 2026, with the potential for a permanent role in the HR department afterward.

Duties

  • Provide timely, professional responses to questions, concerns and requests from internal team members.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening candidates, coordinating interviews with hiring managers and communicating with candidates.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring a smooth experience and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Ensure completion of all required training for new hires and existing team members, tracking progress and compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies to align with company needs and ensure compliance with employment legislation and industry best practices.
  • Organize and maintain accurate employee records in our HRIS database.
  • Administer company benefits (medical, dental, EAP, RRSP, DPSP), including onboarding, offboarding and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Contribute to the creation, updating, and standardization of job descriptions to accurately reflect roles and responsibilities across the company.
  • Support and coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, wellness initiatives and company-wide events.
  • Support company-wide communication of HR-related information, including benefits, retirement savings programs, wellness resources and policy updates, to keep team members informed.
  • Conduct employee surveys, gather feedback and generate HR reports as needed.
  • Assist with performance management processes, including tracking probation periods and ensuring completion of 30/60/90 check-ins by managers.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Human Resources preferred.
  • Achieved or working towards the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role.
  • Hands-on experience in recruitment and talent management, supporting efforts to attract and retain top talent.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and provincial employment standards, legislation, and best HR practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and HR-related technology, with the ability to maintain accurate employee records and streamline HR processes.
  • Highly proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
  • Experience using communication platforms such as Slack or similar tools to facilitate internal communication.
  • Strong written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, fostering trust and collaboration across teams.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage changing priorities.

Performance Package

Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year

The salary range listed is for a Canadian employee. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.

Start Date

We are looking for the successful candidate to start on May 5, 2025. However, we are willing to accommodate the right candidate's notice period or specific availability.
