The Human Resources(HR) Advisor will be responsible for day-to-day generalist activities.Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you will support business needs byassisting with HR transactions, systems and processes – including recruitment,performance management, compensation planning, leadership coaching, and HRreporting. As a valued member of our HR team, you willcollaborate with a diverse range of employees and stakeholders throughout theorganization. You are highly organized, able to effectively manage competingpriorities, and consistently demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail. This is a full-timerole (40 hours per week) based out of the downtown Calgary office. Thisposition is eligible to work from home up to one day per week.
Human Resources Advisor – The Role
- Support HR activities such as hiring,onboarding, employee life cycle adjustments and payroll
- Prepare materials, tools anddocumentation needed to support HR programs
- Prepare job descriptions and job ads;post jobs
- Assist with full-cycle recruitment;schedule interviews, support selection process, and coordinate new hirepaperwork and orientation
- Coordinate with internal payrollresources to answer employee questions
- Provide backup payroll support andvacation coverage, as necessary
- Compile and analyze human resourcedata and metrics to support HR initiatives
- Create and manage regular and ad hocreports to support data-driven decision making, both within the HR teamand the broader organization
- Provide assistance to employeesregarding benefits, policies, programs, and procedures
- Provide operational support includingprocessing confidential reports and documents
- Assist with coaching and managingemployee relations items
- Maintain confidentiality of HRinformation
- Assist with special assignments andannual cycle projects (e.g., succession planning, union negotiations,annual compensation planning, etc.)
Human Resources Advisor – The Person
- Apositive can-do attitude with strong interpersonal skills, strong teamplayer
- Post secondary education in Human Resources,business administration or similar
- 2- 5 years of Human Resources experience or in asimilar role
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and MSSuite preferred
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience using PayWorks would be considered anasset
- Strongattention to detail and ability to communicate effectively andprofessionally to all levels within the organization
- Adaptability and flexibility to prioritize tasksfrom various members of the team
- Initiative to identify process improvements anddesire to improve delivery of human resources services
- Experience in the oil and gas industry would beconsidered an asset
- CPHR designation or working toward designation isan asset
