Job summary

The Neighbourhood Group (TNG) is seeking an HR Generalist to support recruitment, onboarding, health & safety, and employee relations. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Human Resources and partners with HR colleagues to manage data, HRIS, and program team support in a unionized, social service environment.

Responsibilities include data management, policy implementation, labor relations, and live HR metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business Administration, HR, etc.) preferred or equivalent experience.
• CHRP designation or equivalent, achieved or in progress.
• Minimum 3 years of HR experience.
• Experience in a unionized, social service organization is an asset.
• Experience in Recruitment, Onboarding, H&S, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Job Evaluation, HRIS, reporting, performance management, compensation, and training.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with HRIS and reporting; Workforce Now is an asset.
• Excellent computer skills; proficient in MS Office and cloud-based software.

Responsibilities

• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes.
• Provide information and respond to employee/union questions per the Collective Agreement and policy; draft HR communications.
• Handle confidential employee information with discretion and strong customer service.
• Review and update HRIS data; support data integrity initiatives.
• Support health & safety initiatives.
• Ensure employee files comply with policies and regulations.
• Initiate, plan, and support department projects; provide data, reporting, and research as needed.
• Assist with payroll, compensation, benefits, absence management, and performance management concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.
