Job summary

IMP Aerospace & Defence is seeking an HR Generalist to provide consulting on employee relations, performance management, attendance, and recruitment across client groups. You will serve as the primary HR contact for managers and staff, handling policies, union relations, onboarding, and training initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in HR in a complex environment, a degree in HR, and familiarity with Canada Labour Code and employment equity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an HR role within a complex department (5+ years preferred).
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
• Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of Canada Labour Code, Human Rights and Employment Equity legislation.
• Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
• Familiar with web-based recruiting and applicant tracking tools.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines.
• Eligible for Canadian CGP/ITAR clearance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead HR contact for managers and employees on HR policies and collective agreements.
• Address employee/labour relations and performance issues; collaborate with unions.
• Coordinate recruitment activities; draft postings and manage candidate process.
• Prepare offer packages and onboard new hires; ensure tools/access setup.
• Support performance management and lead improvement plans.
• Deliver Respectful Workplace training and other sessions.
• Organize employee orientation and engagement events.
• Mentor junior HR team members; support cross-functional projects.
• Conduct workplace investigations for harassment or related issues.
• Manage Attendance Management Program for assigned groups.
