Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

  • Support the full cycle recruitment & onboarding process for internal and external positions including creating job postings, screening resumes, scheduling and participation in interviews, facilitation of background and reference checks, drafting of employment offers and new hire forms, etc.
  • Lead new hire orientations & onboarding for all new hires
  • Support with New hire entries & changes on the HRIS & amendment paperwork throughout the year
  • Support with creation of all PAF (Payroll Action Forms) for payroll
  • Run monthly and ad-hoc reports through the HRIS system and Excel
  • Manage all new hire entries & offboarding on Safety Shoes & Safety Glasses platforms
  • Support with benefit enrollment communications & process
  • Manage the administration of monthly employee excellence program
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and actively participate in Social Committee meetings supporting with organizing company events and employee engagement activities & content collection
  • Participate in HR projects & initiatives as required
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures. Build trust and strong relationships with employees by spending time on the production floor
  • Follow and adhere to Transcontinental’s code of ethics and participate in the Continuous Improvements efforts
  • Support with digitization of existing employee files
  • Addition duties as assigned
Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

  • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources or related experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset!
  • Experience with HR platforms such as PeopleSoft is an asset!
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • General knowledge of ESA, WSIB, HR theories, best practices, legislation and HR resource
  • Highly organized, able to juggle competing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Strong communication (written/verbal), facilitation and presentation skills
  • Good decision-making skills and ability to take initiatives.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and work with minimal supervision.
