Job summary

RED Mountain Resort is seeking a High Performance Rental Technician for the 2026/27 winter season. You will outfit guests with demo rental equipment, ensure safe operation, and provide expert advice on gear for skill level and conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; post-secondary education an asset.
• Binding certification required (training provided).
• Ski and/or snowboard product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently guide customer through rental process.
• Ensure rental agreements are completed (legal requirements).
• Create a professional, positive impression for both beginner and seasoned guests.
• Maintain an orderly, safe and fun environment.
• Attend preseason PKs to learn about brands/models and advise guests on gear for level and conditions.
• Ensure guests understand how to operate bindings.
• Provide equipment based on guest statistics and accurately adjust bindings per industry standard.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace; inventory equipment; restock supplies; wax/tune as instructed.

Job description

RED Mountain Resort is now hiring High Performance Rental Technicians for the 2026/27 Winter Season! This position is responsible for outfitting guests with high performance demo rental equipment appropriate for their skier/boarder type and skill level, with a mandate to provide as safe a guest experience as possible and create a fun and positive environment. Knowledge of current ski and board technology and product is required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service

• Efficiently guide customer through rental process
• Ensure rental agreements are completely filled out (to satisfy legal requirements)
• Create a professional, positive impression for the beginner and seasoned guest alike
• Maintain an orderly, safe and fun environment
• Be knowledgeable about all Red Sports rental equipment and its proper use. Attend preseason PKs in order to learn about different brands and models we carry to pass onto customers and give proper advise on appropriate gear for level and conditions.
• Ensure guest understands how to operate bindings
• Answer guests’ questions and concerns

Equipment Set-up

• Provide guest with appropriate equipment based on guest’s statistics
• Accurately adjust bindings according to industry standard (must have binding certification)

Additional Tasks

• Maintain clean, tidy, safe workspace
• Inventory equipment
• Restock supplies
• Wax and/or tune equipment as per service technician’s instructions

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education

• High School diploma

Experience

• Binding certification required (training provided).
• Ski and/or snowboard product knowledge
• Knowledge of Red Mountain Resort and its history an asset
• Knowledge of Rossland and its history an asset
• Customer service experience required
• Cash handling and POS transaction processing required

Physical and Other Requirements

• Able to negotiate stairs
• Able to lift heavy ski and snowboard equipment up to and down from racking systems and benches
• Able to adjust ski and snowboard equipment
• Able to be on feet for entire shift
