Job summary

RED Mountain Resort is seeking a Service Technician for the 2026/27 Winter Season. You will mount, tune, adjust and test rental and customer equipment to industry standards, ensuring gear is safe and well-tuned for on-mountain use.

Responsibilities include servicing the rental fleet, assisting guests, maintaining a clean shop, and helping train staff for binding certification. Experience with ski/snowboard equipment and POS systems is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education an asset.
  • Binding certification preferred (training provided).
  • Experience with Wintersteiger SBI stonegrind machine and Trim B edger an asset.
  • Ski and/or snowboard product knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Red Mountain Resort and its history an asset.
  • Customer service experience (or demonstrated aptitude).
  • Service shop experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with POS software an asset.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook in a Windows environment an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Repair, tune and wax guest equipment to specifications; advise on safety and estimate repairs; ensure on-mountain safety understanding.
  • Rental Fleet Set-up and Maintenance: Mount bindings, tune wax rental fleet, inspect for damage, recalibrate gear as needed.
  • Additional Tasks: Maintain shop equipment and workspace; assist rental floor staff; help train staff for binding certification.

Job description

RED Mountain Resort is hiring a Service Technician for the 2026/27 Winter Season! This position is responsible for mounting, tuning, adjusting and testing rental and customer equipment, with a mandate to ensure that all equipment coming through the service shop is safe, well-tuned and adjusted in accordance with industry standards.

MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES

  • Customer Service
    • Repair, tune and wax guest equipment to their specifications
    • Offer advice as to safety of gear, suggest appropriate repairs, and estimate cost of such repairs
    • Ensure guest understands what needs to/should be done to ensure on-mountain safety and comfort
    • Fill out work order forms completely and accurately, making note of actual repairs done as well as customer’s invoice amount
    • Ensure all work orders are passed on to Cashier for POS processing
    • Create a professional, competent, positive impression for the beginner and seasoned guest alike
    • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment
    • Be knowledgeable about all Red Sports rental equipment and its proper use
    • Answer guests’ questions and concerns
  • Rental Fleet Set-up and Maintenance
    • Mount bindings on new equipment
    • Repair, tune and wax rental fleet on a regular basis
    • Regularly inspect fleet for damaged or potentially unsafe equipment
    • Re-calibrate ski equipment on annual and as-needed basis
  • Additional Tasks
    • Maintain service shop equipment as needed; ensure all equipment is in good working order
    • Maintain clean, tidy, safe workspace
    • Assist rental floor staff
    • Help train staff for binding certification
KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education

  • Post secondary education an asset

Experience

  • Binding certification preferred (training provided)

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Able to negotiate stairs
  • Able to lift heavy ski and snowboard equipment up to and down from racking systems, work benches and service shop machinery
  • Able to mount and adjust ski and snowboard equipment
  • Able to operate and maintain service shop machinery (grinders, drills, waxers)
  • Able to be on feet for entire shift
