Job summary

Cedar Strong Prevention & Intervention Society is seeking Tenant Support Workers for a new Hope facility. You will provide day-to-day emotional, social, and practical support to tenants facing mental health concerns, homelessness, or disabilities.

You will help with planning, advocacy, life skills, and access to community resources, aiming for greater independence and stability. As part of a unionized, full-time team, you’ll work in a supportive housing environment, coordinating with health-care

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Community Social Services or related human-services field.
  • At least one year of recent related experience.
  • Current CPR, First Aid and FoodSafe certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in individualized case planning with tenants, care providers, and families.
  • Interview tenants to identify goals, strengths, needs, and services.
  • Develop and maintain care plans, progress reports, and documentation.
  • Provide supportive counselling and practical assistance.
  • Assist tenants with life skills such as hygiene, budgeting, meal planning, and appointments.
  • Advocate for tenants with landlords, services, and community resources.
  • Coordinate transportation and accompany tenants to appointments when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
