Job summary

Gray Collection in Montreal, QC seeks a friendly Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests. You will manage reservations, greet guests, escort them to tables, and support the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of experience, strong English and French communication, and the ability to work independently and proactively. You will help maintain a clean host stand and assist during service to ensure guest

Job description

The Host(ess) is the first point of contact for guests, whether in person or over the phone. They provide a warm welcome, manage reservations, and support the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage dining room reservations;
• Ensure menus are clean, organized, and in excellent condition;
• Greet guests upon arrival, assign tables according to the established floor plan, escort them to their tables, and adjust place settings as needed;
• Assist the dining room team whenever necessary during service;
• Thank guests upon departure, inquire about their satisfaction, and encourage them to return;
• Ensure the cleanliness of the host stand, restrooms, and dining room;
• Answer telephone calls according to established procedures;
• Perform any other related duties required to ensure the smooth operation of dining room service.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar position;
• Strong customer service skills;
• Ability to work independently;
• Resourceful and proactive;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Excellent communication skills in both English and French, spoken and written.
