Job summary

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking a skilled Locksmith to support our hospitals and sites across Centenary and surrounding facilities. The role installs, maintains, repairs and opens locks, access control systems, door hardware, and performs key cutting for authorized personnel.

You will work closely with the Security & Facilities team to ensure rapid responses and reliable security. This permanent, full-time position requires knowledge of master key systems (ASSA, BEST, Sargent) and

Qualifications

• Successful completion of TAOL 1 & 2 (8000 hours apprenticeship).
• Successful completion of Locksmith 259L Certification.
• Valid Ontario Driver's License preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturer schematics.
• Experience with master key systems (ASSA, BEST, Sargent).
• Excellent organizational, problem solving & troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, rebuild and replace locks and cylinders; cut keys for authorized personnel.
• Maintain Master Key Systems; track hardware changes and reloading cylinders.
• Assist in renovations by evaluating locking devices from blueprints and installing systems.
• Work with outside contractors on Electronic Access Equipment installation.
• Maintain inventory of locksmith supplies and equipment.
• Ensure security policies and guidelines; respond to urgent repairs and on-call shifts.
• Support SHN sites and provide high-security lock service.
