Job summary

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is seeking a Biomedical Technologist to support the Centenary Site’s diagnostic and monitoring equipment. You will perform safety testing, installation, calibration, and maintenance across hospital settings.

Reporting to the Director of Biomedical Engineering, you will build strong relationships with clinical staff, maintain records in the CMMS, and participate in ongoing process improvements to enhance quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology from a recognized program.
• Minimum five (5) years recent experience as a Biomedical Technologist in a hospital setting.
• Good knowledge of human anatomy and physiology related to the job.
• Thorough knowledge of a wide range of clinical care diagnostic, therapeutic, monitoring equipment and life support systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial inspection and testing on incoming medical equipment and systems.
• Install new medical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance.
• Diagnose defective equipment and perform repairs in shop or clinical settings.
• Perform and record preventive maintenance and document all work in CMMS.
