Kinvie is seeking a Senior Manager, Hedge Accounting & Financial Operations to lead monthly derivative analysis, hedge accounting, and fair value reporting within the Accounting and Finance team in Toronto.

You will collaborate with Treasury, Capital Markets, and Securitization, oversee middle-office and back-office activities, and contribute to financial statement disclosures for IIROC debt transactions, while supporting banking operations and accounts payable.

Formación

• CPA designation (CMA, CGA, CA) is required.
• 10+ years of experience at financial institutions including 3 years with an accounting firm.
• 1-3 years derivative accounting/valuation experience, including hedge accounting.
• Knowledge of IFRS is required.
• Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
• Advanced MS Excel skills; macros are an asset.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Experience in securitization would be an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and work in teams or individually.

Responsabilidades

• Manage fair value reporting of derivatives and hedging instruments and eliminate P&L volatility through hedge accounting.
• Prepare hedge accounting documentation and effectiveness testing, ensuring IFRS disclosures.
• Develop procedures to achieve hedge accounting for various derivatives (swaps, forwards).
• Manage settlements for security transactions, including swap payments and receipts.
• Coordinate with traders in Treasury/Capital Markets, custodians, and counterparties to resolve settlement issues.
• Review and enter FVtPL investments; ensure controls over valuations.
• Prepare/review GL entries and monthly reconciliation and notes for financial reports.
• Coordinate with groups to obtain counterparty collateral margins disclosures.
• Assist external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audit.
• Document new operational processes and drive improvements.
