Job summary

Finning in Saskatchewan is seeking a dedicated Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to support our customers across the province. Turn your experience and passion for CAT equipment into a rewarding role, working on ultra‑class machines in both shop and field environments, with opportunities to travel to remote sites as needed.

You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment, diagnose faults with computerized testing, and uphold Finning's customer service commitment.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification required.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Experience with electrical, hydraulic and emissions systems.
• Engine or component rebuilding experience.
• Transmission or hydraulic testing knowledge.
• Gas engine and power generation experience a plus.
• Customer service experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Wage: $42.62 - $51.57
• Additional $5.00 Field premium
• Additional $3.50 Field premium

Job Description

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in either a shop or field environment (possibility of remote locations)
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (Agriculture, Truck & Transport and Automotive will also be considered)
• Valid class 5 drivers license with a successful driver’s abstract
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing knowledge
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience is an asset
• Previous customer experience would be considered an asset

Important Details

• A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
• The shift will either be a 7x7 or 14x14 shift supporting all of Saskatchewan
