Job summary

Finning Canada in Alberta is seeking a Resident Heavy Duty Mechanic based in the Medicine Hat area to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Caterpillar equipment and related systems. You will troubleshoot in the field, interact with customers and Finning teams, and document all work.

A Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification and a valid driver's license are required. This permanent, Monday–Friday role may require some shift flexibility and residence in the Medicine Hat

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
• Valid driver's license with a clean recent abstract.
• Safety conscious team player with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Completion or ongoing completion of Finning S-level courses.
• Self-motivated, autonomous and computer literate.
• Experience with Costwatcher, DBS, SIS and Warranty Systems is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience repairing CAT equipment.

Responsibilities

• Completion, or in the process of completing all Finning S- level courses

• Experience with Costwatcher, DBS, SIS and Warranty Systems as well as a good understanding of Finning systems, would all be assets
• Successful candidate will need to be customer orientated and motivated to meet the customer's expectations
• Minimum of 5 years' experience repairing CAT equipment

Note:

• This position will work a Monday to Friday day shift
• Shift work may be required in the future
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
• Hours and shift schedules that may be subject to change to meet Finning or customer requirements, and will be made in accordance with the Collective Agreement
• Please be advised, the successful candidate for this position will reside in the Medicine Hat area.
