Health and Safety Coordinator

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• 1-5 years of relevant industry Health and Safety experience with a focus on construction
• Certified COR Internal Auditor
• Ability to develop and improve Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents
• Strong knowledge of Excel and MS Office
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Proficient in Adobe PDF
• Ability to find solutions to resistance/setbacks and possess drive to complete tasks
• Knowledge of and ability to advise operations on project HS&E programs
• Valid Class G driver’s license

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Maintain current knowledge of industry regulations and new technologies related to Construction Health and Safety Regulations
• Conduct job site visits and inspections as required
• Assist lead health and safety personnel
• Review, assess, and report safety issues
• Keep training matrix up to date and remind employees of missing or expired training required by law and policy
• Administer safety software: check completed forms and documents, ensure COR documents are organized and accessible
• Implement corrective actions
• Review and report on incidents and inspections
• Maintain communication with Project Managers and Site Supervisors regarding HSMS requirements
• Perform other duties as required

What would really impress us:

• Pursuit of NCSO, CRSP, CSP, or other HS&E designations
• Ability to operate independently and lead effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Training in Emergency First Aid and/or First Response
• Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively across all organizational levels
