Job Skills / Requirements: This position is located at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, NS.

Shift Supervisors are responsible for:

1. Directing employees to perform to the standards of Paladin's policies and procedures.
2. Ensuring employees have and retain knowledge of the site operations.
3. Ensuring their team is made aware of and understand any Paladin issued memo/announcement.
4. Ensuring contractual obligations are met - such as no time loss on site. Addressing lateness, absences, and covering shifts as needed.
5. Responding to all emergencies; taking command of the situation.
6. Ensuring the health and safety of staff as it pertains to training on Paladin's Occupational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and reporting any incidents that occur during their shift.
7. Dealing with disciplinary issues that arise on site, including completion of meetings and paperwork. Severe disciplinary infractions will require collaboration between the Shift Supervisor, Management, and Human Resources.

Shift Supervisors duties include (but are not limited to):

1. Checking emails and answering any pressing issues.
2. Being on call for emergencies.
3. Conferring with the Site Supervisor for daily or upcoming matters.
4. Assisting with scheduling.
5. Facilitating shift change briefings.
6. General cleanliness of the Security Office.
7. Ensuring daily paperwork (sign-in sheets, incident reports, etc.) has been completed.

An ideal candidate for Shift Supervisor can take care of the big and little things that make a site run more smoothly. They take initiative to help out and always ensure their team of employees is supported and recognized.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma/GED

Certification Requirements: Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
