Job summary

University Health Network is seeking a Project Coordinator to join the FM-PRO team at Toronto General Hospital. You will coordinate capital project activities under the Senior Project Manager, supporting Facilities Operations with schedules, deliverables, and risk management.

The role requires a 4-year mechanical/construction diploma or related program and at least 5 years of experience in plant equipment maintenance, preferably in a unionized hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 4-year diploma in mechanical/construction technology or related program.
• Minimum 5+ years of practical experience with plant equipment maintenance.
• Experience in a unionized hospital environment preferred.
• WHMIS safety training certification.
• Ability to read/write, understand and communicate in English; interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management day-to-day support to the Manager.
• Coordinate construction projects and assess client requirements to ensure quality delivery for patients, staff and visitors.
• Develop and use standard tools and processes (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management software.
• Supervise trades and oversee all aspects of projects including planning, tracking, budgeting and reporting.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including proposals, plans, budgets and agendas.
• Monitor progress, risks and issues; communicate with stakeholders and elevate when needed.
• Suggest risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with OHSA and safety regulations.
• Engage stakeholders and manage changing resource and project requirements.
• Schedule meetings with multiple stakeholders and manage calendars.
