Salary

$20.00 to $33.27 per hour (to be negotiated). 30 to 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Create new recipes
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Supervise activities of sous‑chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks (more than 20 people)
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role
  • Certifications: Cook Trade Certification
  • Technical Skills: Bakery goods and desserts, eggs and dairy, fish and seafood, meat, poultry and game, stocks, soups and sauces, vegetables, fruits, nuts and mushrooms
  • Personal Traits: Dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, organization, reliability, team player
  • Work Site Requirements: Wet/damp, noisy, odorous, hot, non‑smoking environment; staff accommodation available
  • Security/Safety: Medical exam required
  • Transportation: Public transportation available
