Job summary

Nurse Next Door in Nanaimo is hiring caregivers to provide compassionate in-home care across the North Vancouver Island area. This role offers flexible shifts and the chance to build meaningful relationships with clients.

Responsibilities include meal prep, light housekeeping, companionship, and following care plans. English communication is required; valid BC healthcare certification and background checks are mandatory.

Qualifications

• 1 year caregiving experience.
• Must be able to communicate in English; other languages are an asset.
• Proof of BC Health Care Certification (Registry #).
• Current TB Screen and Criminal Record Check.
• Legally able to work in the surrounding area.
• Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and personal care.
• Follow the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Meet safety needs and use equipment properly.
• Work within your experience while maintaining safety and competence.
• Complete records and documentation accurately.
• Service the North Vancouver Island surrounding area.
• Accommodate various visit times (700-1500, 1500-2300, 2300-700) weekdays and weekends.

• Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description
