Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. seeks an Engineering Co-op Student to join the Earthworks & Roadways Team on the Deerfoot Trail Improvements Project in Calgary, Alberta.

This site-based opportunity offers hands-on experience with earthworks, grading, utilities, paving, and traffic staging while collaborating with engineers and construction professionals. You will support field staff, participate in planning, quantity tracking, and progress reporting, and gain exposure to construction estimates and document

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or related program at a university, college, or technical institute.
• Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).

Responsibilities

• Conduct site audits and prepare reports for the project team.
• Assist Field Engineers and Superintendents with day-to-day tasks.
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis to support efficiency.
• Take-off quantities from construction drawings as required.
• Review completed work for quality and accuracy.
• Liaise with project staff on schedules and cost reporting.
