Job summary

Aecon Concessions in Calgary invites applications for an Engineering Co-op Student to support a major infrastructure project. This site-based role provides hands-on experience in a heavy civil construction environment, with exposure to resource planning, scheduling, cost control, quality management, and daily field operations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or related program at a university, college, or technical institute.
• Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site audits and provide daily/weekly/monthly reports to the project staff and key stakeholders.
• Assist Field Engineers and Superintendents with day-to-day tasks.
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis to support operational efficiency.
• Perform quantity take-off from construction drawings as required.
• Review completed work for quality and accuracy with strong attention to detail.
• Liaise with project staff and Aecon delegates on the project schedule.
• Monitor progress and assist in the provision of job cost reports to management.
