Aecon is seeking a Traffic Control Co‑op Student for the Deerfoot Trail Improvements Project in Calgary, Alberta. This site‑based role provides hands‑on experience in traffic management, planning, and roadway construction alongside engineers and construction professionals.

You will learn to develop TMPs, coordinate lane closures, inspect field setups, and assist with permits and stakeholder communications while contributing to safe and efficient project delivery on Calgary's busiest corridors.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary Civil/Construction/Transportation program.
• Interest in traffic management and roadwork.
• Able to read engineering drawings and construction docs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and monitoring of Traffic Management Plans.
• Coordinate lane closures, detours, and traffic staging.
• Conduct field inspections of traffic control devices and signage.
• Monitor safety and efficiency of traffic operations.
• Assist with permits, approvals and notifications for road work.
• Prepare traffic documentation, reports, and records.
