Job summary

Livingstone Landscaping Ltd. in Brandon, Manitoba, is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Crew Member to mow, trim, and maintain residential and commercial properties.

This full-time, seasonal role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and quality workmanship in an outdoor environment. You will operate ride-on and push mowers, line trimmers, blowers, and other equipment, participate in spring and fall cleanups, and help keep sites clean and presentable while adhering to company procedures and predicting

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to follow company safety procedures and recognize hazards.
  • Dependable, punctual, and available for seasonal extended hours.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Willingness to learn landscaping maintenance techniques.
  • Team-player mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Mowing, trimming, edging, and maintaining lawns to a high standard.
  • Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment (ride-on and push mowers, line trimmers, weed whackers, hedge trimmers, backpack blowers, bed edgers, trailers).
  • Performing seasonal Spring and Fall cleanups.
  • Changing mower blades and assisting with equipment upkeep.
  • Removing debris and maintaining clean, well-presented properties.
  • Working collaboratively with crew members and communicating with Lead Hands and Supervisors.
  • Coordinating with the Shop to maintain equipment, vehicles, and trailers.
  • Following company safety procedures and horticultural best practices.

Position Summary

The Grounds Maintenance Crew Member is responsible for the mowing, trimming, cleanup, and overall maintenance of residential and commercial properties. This role requires a motivated individual who takes pride in quality workmanship, works well within a team environment, and is committed to maintaining safe and professional worksites.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Mowing, trimming, edging, and maintaining lawns to a high standard
  • Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment, including:
  • Ride-on mowers
  • Push mowers
  • Line trimmers and weed whackers
  • Hedge trimmers
  • Backpack blowers
  • Bed edgers
  • Trucks and trailers
  • Performing seasonal Spring and Fall cleanups
  • Changing mower blades and assisting with basic equipment upkeep
  • Removing debris and maintaining clean, well-presented properties
  • Working collaboratively with crew members to complete projects efficiently
  • Communicating effectively with Lead Hands and Supervisors
  • Coordinating with the Shop to maintain equipment, vehicles, and trailers
  • Following company safety procedures, horticultural best practices, and quality standards
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized job site
  • Performing other duties as required
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Ability to follow company safety procedures and recognize job hazards
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask
  • Dependable, punctual, and available for seasonal extended hours (including occasional Saturdays)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Positive attitude and strong team-player mentality
  • Willingness to learn landscaping maintenance techniques, equipment operation, and proper horticultural practices
Assets
  • Class 3F License with Air Brake Endorsement
  • Experience hauling trailers
  • Previous landscaping or grounds maintenance experience
Physical Requirements

This position is primarily performed outdoors and requires the ability to:

  • Work outside for extended periods
  • Walk and work on uneven terrain
  • Stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, crawl, and climb regularly
  • Push, pull, lift, and carry materials and equipment
  • Perform repetitive movements involving hands, arms, and shoulders
  • Safely operate landscaping equipment and machinery

You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
