Job summary

Stong’s Market in Vancouver seeks a friendly Grocery Clerk to help customers, stock shelves, and keep the grocery area clean and organized. You’ll answer questions, assist with purchases, and support the team to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

The role emphasizes strong communication, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends at our Vancouver stores. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ask customers about their needs and help them in making purchases.
• Escort customers to the appropriate aisle or shelf to assist with purchasing decisions.
• Ensure the store is clean, safe and ready for shoppers.
• Maintain and build various grocery department displays.
• Rotate, load and unload grocery department products.
• Stock and replace products to avoid damages.
• Keep shelves fully stocked with fresh products.
• Backroom and inventory management; assist with regular inventory counts.
• Assist with other departmental functions including rotating, stocking, cleaning and maintaining appearance and organization.

We are looking for a Grocery Clerk to join our team!The focus of this role is to ensure that thegrocery area of our store is well-maintained and running efficiently. You willact as the first point of contact with customers and help them with informationand support in buying their groceries.

The responsibilities for this role include preparing saledisplays, ensuring the store is clean, stocking products, and processingcustomer orders. To exceed in this role, the ideal candidate will have afriendly and open attitude, with outstanding communication and interpersonalskills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ask customers about their needs and helping themin making purchases
• Escort customers to the appropriate aisle orshelve in order to assist with purchasing decisions
• Ensure the store isclean, safe and ready for shoppers
• Maintaining andbuilding various grocery department displays
• Rotation, loading andunloading of grocery department product
• Stock and replaceproducts to avoid any damages
• Keep shelves fullystocked with fresh products

• Must be able to stand during scheduled shift,withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds at times
