Job summary

The University of Alberta Students' Union (UASU) seeks a Governance Support Coordinator to ensure effective governance across Students' Council, COFA and CORA. You will maintain governance records, develop programming for Council and build relationships with representatives.

This role involves scheduling and circulating agendas, coordinating follow-ups, updating the website, and supporting budgets and planning activities.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience, with preference to governance, business administration, economics or public policy.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and in a hybrid setting.
• Experience in facilitating/chairing meetings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with student governance representatives.
• Provide information and advice on governance processes to student representatives.
• Develop, maintain and distribute governance resources.
• Coordinate agendas and minutes for Students' Council and committees (including COFA and CORA).
• Schedule support for meetings and ensure timely follow-up on decisions.
• Oversee governance engagement opportunities, such as new council programs.
• Provide dedicated support to Students' Council and its committees.
• Maintain/update the Students' Council websites and documentation.
• Assist in budgets, reports, research and planning activities.
• Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to run outreach campaigns.
