Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for delivering about one quarter of the Alberta government’s Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population that support key social programs and services and economic development.
The Ministry designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Infrastructure also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.
The Governance Coordinator supports the monitoring and review of capital programs and documentation and the application of standards and guidelines as they pertain to the delivery of approved projects, and ensures all practices are in alignment with capital program manuals to safeguard consistency and adherence to policy. The Governance Coordinator will be an active member of and assist with Secretariat responsibilities for several committees, along with any other relevant working groups as required.
The Governance Coordinator works with various internal and external stakeholders to review and assess current related practices within the capital programs and project delivery teams. This role will support the continuous improvement framework, implementing improvement initiatives and coordinating updates. The Governance Coordinator will communicate findings and provide recommendations to the Manager and various capital program steering committees. In addition, the Governance Coordinator will provide input for continual improvements to the various related guidelines and policies within the capital program manuals.
The Governance Coordinator may participate in a variety of additional activities when required such as site visits and facility inventory updates.
