Job summary

Interfor is seeking a GIS Intern for Adams Lake, British Columbia, with an anticipated May start and a 4–8 month term. The role offers hands‑on experience applying GIS to forestry projects, creating and analyzing maps, and improving data quality.

You will learn from experienced professionals while contributing to responsible forestry practices. You should be pursuing a GIS/Geography degree or diploma and have experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in GIS, Geography, Forestry, Environmental Science, or related program in progress.
• Experience with GIS tools such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online and basic Excel usage.
• Ability to analyze information and clearly communicate findings in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrated ownership of high‑quality, timely work and problem solving.
• Interest in how spatial data supports operational and business goals.

What You Offer

• You are working toward a degree or diploma in GIS, Geography, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related program.
• You have experience with GIS tools such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online, and are comfortable using Microsoft Excel.
• You can analyze information and communicate findings clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• You take ownership of high-quality, timely work and are comfortable solving problems independently.
