Job summary

Interfor is seeking a Human Resources Intern at Adams Lake, British Columbia, to learn from forestry professionals and support HR activities on-site. The role includes recruitment support, records management, and coordination of training and events, with an anticipated 4- to 8-month term and travel to Castlegar and Grand Forks operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support full-cycle recruitment and onboarding activities.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems with accuracy.
  • Provide admin support across relations, attendance, performance, and payroll tasks.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with HR inquiries.
  • Support HR reporting and analytics.
  • Coordinate training, engagement, wellbeing initiatives, and site events.

Thisis an on-site internship with an anticipated start date inMay.Ideally,you’llbe available for a 4- to 8-monthterm.   • Salaries starting from $3,350 per month based on year in school

WhatYou’ll Do
  • Support full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer documentation, new hire packages, and orientations.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and handled confidentially.
  • Provide administrative support across employee relations, attendance, performance management, accommodations, return-to-work, benefits, and payroll activities.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with general HR inquiries, connecting them with the appropriate HR team member when needed.
  • Support HR reporting and analytics by compiling and tracking information such as recruitment activity, turnover, absenteeism, and training participation.
  • Help coordinate training, employee engagement, recognition, wellness initiatives, and site events.
  • Assist with workplace investigations, policy and procedure updates, HR communications, presentations, and compliance-related initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, Payroll, Safety, and other teams on regional and site projects focused on employee experience, continuous improvement, and business needs.
What You Offer
  • You are currently enrolled or recently graduated from a recognized university or college program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You are organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally, and enjoy working with employees, leaders, and candidates.
  • You demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and care when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • You have strong attention to detail and are comfortable working with data, records, and documentation.
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with formulas, pivot tables, or reporting is an asset.
  • You are curious, adaptable, and interested in learning about HR in an operational environment.
