Job summary

Interfor Corporation invites applications for a Human Resources Intern position at our Adams Lake location in British Columbia. This on-site internship offers hands-on recruitment, onboarding, records management, and HR support across employee relations, safety, and payroll tasks.

Ideal candidates are enrolled or recently graduated in HR or related fields, highly organized, and comfortable handling confidential information.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a recognized university or college program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication, professional demeanor, and comfort working with employees, leaders, and candidates.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and care with confidential information.
  • Attention to detail and comfort working with data, records, and documentation.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including postings, resume screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and new hire documentation.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative support across employee relations, attendance, performance, accommodations, return-to-work, benefits, and payroll activities.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with HR inquiries and route to appropriate HR team members.
  • Support HR reporting and analytics by compiling recruitment activity, turnover, absenteeism, and training data.
  • Coordinate training, employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and site events.
  • Assist with workplace investigations, policy updates, and compliance-related initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, Payroll, Safety, and other teams on regional and site projects.

Human Resources Intern,Chase, British Columbia

You’ll work alongside experienced forestryprofessionals, build practical skills, and gain a better understanding of howplanning, fieldwork, safety, and responsible forest management support ourwoodlands operations. If you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems, andlearning how forests are managed from planning through operations, this couldbe the summer opportunity for you!

Thisis an on-site internship with an anticipated start date inMay. Ideally, you’ll be available for a 4- to 8-monthterm.

Thisposition is based at our Adams Lake location and includes travel to ourCastlegar and Grand Forks operations. Reliable transportation is required.

WhatYou’ll Do
  • Support full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, reference checks, offer documentation, new hire packages, and orientations.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and handled confidentially.
  • Provide administrative support across employee relations, attendance, performance management, accommodations, return-to-work, benefits, and payroll activities.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with general HR inquiries, connecting them with the appropriate HR team member when needed.
  • Support HR reporting and analytics by compiling and tracking information such as recruitment activity, turnover, absenteeism, and training participation.
  • Help coordinate training, employee engagement, recognition, wellness initiatives, and site events.
  • Assist with workplace investigations, policy and procedure updates, HR communications, presentations, and compliance-related initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, Payroll, Safety, and other teams on regional and site projects focused on employee experience, continuous improvement, and business needs.
What You Offer
