AgeCare Dawson in Chestermere, AB is seeking a Registered Nurse to collaborate with the Director of Care to deliver safe and ethical professional nursing services to residents. The RN will promote a culture of resident safety, respect, and teamwork while adhering to AgeCare policies and provincial standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, current provincial registration, and experience in geriatric or long-term care settings.

Qualifications

• Registration and membership in good standing with provincial registry.
• Knowledge of provincial nursing standards and health acts relevant to long-term care operations.
• Experience in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.
• Leads shift report with health care team members, ensuring all changes in resident status are communicated.
• Records significant changes in residents’ condition and ensures chart documentation complies with policies and standards.
• Reviews and processes physician orders promptly and communicates any processing difficulties to leadership.
