Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Dawson location in Chestermere, AB. The RN will coordinate nursing and related services for residents, lead shift reports with the care team, and ensure accurate charting in line with provincial standards and AgeCare policies.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor of Nursing, are registered in good standing, and have geriatric/long-term care experience. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and respectful resident care within AgeCare's mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and provincial registration in good standing.
  • Geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing background.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Acts, provincial regulations and medical-legal responsibilities.
  • Experience with care coordination and resident charting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate nursing and related services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other in-house teams.
  • Lead shift reports to inform the health care team of changes in residents' status.
  • Record significant changes in residents' condition and ensure chart documentation complies with AgeCare policies.
  • Review physician orders and communicate any processing difficulties to leadership.

The OpportunityThe Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to the Director of Care collaborating on the delivery of resident care to meet individual needs within his/her level of competency. They will integrate and apply the knowledge, skills, judgment, and interpersonal attributes required to provide safe and ethical professional nursing services to residents.The RN provides quality and safe resident care. The RN promotes teamwork and a culture that supports AgeCare Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of Respect, Teamwork, Quality and encourages practices that respect resident, family and staff rights, individuality, and diversity. The RN promotes health and safety awareness in the workplace. Within the scope of this position, the RN takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury.What You Will DoCoordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.Leads shift report with members of the health care team, ensuring that all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.Records significant changes in residents’ condition; ensures documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.Reviews and processes physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible.
