Nipissing University in North Bay is seeking a Geomatics Laboratory Assistant as a NUWorks student. You will mentor peers in GIS techniques, help develop lab workflows and assist with lab equipment maintenance.
You will run office hours, support GEOG 2107 activities, manage equipment sign-out, and adapt tasks to changing priorities. Prior Geomatics lab experience is an asset.

Job Description:
The Geomatics Laboratory Assistant will mentor their peers in GIS techniques, particularly troubleshooting and developing workflows to complete lab assignments. Additionally, if time allows, they will assist with maintenance of the spaces and equipment used for undergraduate Geomatics labs. Jobs will include running office hours where peers can seek assistance, assisting the Instructor of GEOG 2107 (GIS and the Earth from Space) in management and maintenance of equipment like GPS units, and testing lab computers to ensure all software and network drives are functioning as intended. The instructor of GEOG 2017 will work alongside the assistant and train the student on all duties.
